Here at Sinoway, we offer many different printing options, including screen printing. Sometimes it’s nice to know what goes into bringing your design to life, so we’re going to walk you through the screen printing process.
What is Screen Printing for Your Pouch?
Screen printing involves none other than a big screen. Ink is pushed through the screen onto the surface to become the design you created. It sounds like quite a simple process, right? There’s actually a lot more to it that just that one step.
Preparing the Screen
You don’t want ink going to places where there shouldn’t be any. To make sure this doesn’t happen, the areas where there isn’t supposed to be any ink is filled with a substance that will prevent ink from getting through. This creates the stencil. Just as those simple plastic stencils, this giant screen stencil works the same way. However, instead of coloring in the stencil, ink is simply pushed through the open areas.
The Printing Process
When it comes time to push that ink through, only one color can be printed at a time. That means that each screen will be for a different color and will have been stenciled out accordingly to properly print on the surface.
When your design is received, it will be color separated to figure out which colors go where. Once everything is mapped out and the stencils are created, the surface is locked into place and passes under each screen to be printed on.
